Excerpt:

“Did somebody hurt you?” My gut knots with the question. You can’t save her, Ethan.

“You could say that.”

I step forward. Maybe that’s why she’s here on this impulsive visit to Jackson Harbor. Maybe she’s running from someone, escaping a home that’s not safe. “Do you have somewhere safe to go?”

“It’s not that kind of hurt,” she whispers. She swallows, and her gaze dips to my mouth. “Why are you so sad?”

Because you remind me of Elena. Because I couldn’t walk away from her either. “I’m just worried about you.” I don’t know if I step closer or if gravity pulls me that way, but in a breath, she’s at my fingertips and my thighs brush her knees.

“Will you do me a favor?” she asks, her attention still on my lips.

“What?”

“Will you kiss me?”

“Nic . . .” I wait for the excuses to find their way onto my tongue, but they don’t, and I realize I don’t want an excuse to walk away from her. My whole body is warm and my fingers itch to touch her. The only thing I want is my mouth on hers. I want to taste her joy and sadness. I want to know how it feels to have that body pressed against mine.

I’m silent a beat too long, and she winces. “Sorry.”

“Don’t be. It’s not that I don’t want to, but you’re vulnerable.”

“Are you always so noble?”

“If you think my thoughts are noble right now, you’re even more naïve than I feared.” I lean my forehead against hers. Christ. Who am I kidding? She’s asking me to do something I’ve been thinking about since I first laid eyes on her. I couldn’t deny her if I wanted to, and I don’t want to. Not even a little.

I cup her face in my hand and run my thumb along her jaw.

She slides a hand behind my neck. “I like the way you look at me. You make me feel sexy. Wanted.”

“Who made you feel like you weren’t?”

“A mistake.”

“Then he didn’t deserve you.” I lower my mouth to hers, telling myself the kiss will be brief, that I won’t get carried away. But then her other hand joins the first behind my neck, and her breasts press against my chest. Her thighs part, and I step between them in my instinctive need to be closer. A soft moan slips from her lips as our mouths connect.

This girl kisses like she does everything else—with unabashed emotion. She doesn’t hide a thing she’s feeling, and I’m hard even before her mouth opens under mine and our tongues sweep across each other.

I thread one hand into her hair and slide the other up her bare leg, my fingers curling into the flesh of her hip while my thumb strokes her inner thigh. Her skirt is bunched around her waist, and it would be so easy to follow this soft skin up and find her panties. She’s making the sexiest sounds, and I’m dying to touch her, to find out if she’s as turned on as she sounds, but I keep my hand where it is and give her the kiss she asked for. I offer the evidence that she’s sexy and desirable, no matter what some asshole made her think.

Review:

I absolutely fell in love with Nicole and Ethan’s story. From breaking my heart at the very beginning to the HEA ending at the very end- I could and did not want to put down this book! It was fun, flirty, and had some super steamy scenes that I absolutely loved.
Nicole has an identical twin sister and when she finds out on her WEDDING DAY that home girl has stolen her man, she steals her identity (is it really stealing if you look alike anyways?!) and heads to the job that Veronica (twin) was supposed to be starting. Upon getting there, Nic gets totally wasted at a local bar- because hello who wouldn’t do that the day she finds out her sister has stolen her future husband- and *almost* hooks up with one of the locals. It’s totally out of character for her, but it was the almost release she needed.
Ethan is a OB/GYN at a local hospital and he is the local that Nic almost hooks up with, but duty calls and he has to leave her hanging on by a thread. Unfortunately, he is also the dad that Nic/Veronica was supposed to start babysitting for, and as you can see this is quite the dilemma.
This whole slew of characters have secrets and they are a bunch of rascals! At times, I literally wanted to punch her sister Veronica in the face because WHO DOES THAT!!! and especially twins with their sharing brain power. But all of the characters were lovable characters-seriously I felt like I was reading about a family that I wanted to be a part of.
Both Ethan and Nic are not ready for love- they have both have had their heart broken and aren’t looking for anything, but their chemistry and attraction are something else! Seriously you could feel the electricity just by reading. In the end there was no denying that they were meant to be together and I was so happy when they finally made it work!
I gave this book a 5 star rating because I truly enjoyed the story! I fell in love with each of the characters (yes even the annoying ones!) and the book just gave me a warm sense of comfort- like I could tell that I was going to enjoy reading all about the other characters that are to follow! I loved how sexy the book was, I loved the banter between the characters, and I loved how great the writing was. It wasn’t too cliche of a story and I am a sucker for HEA’s so this made my heart just melt! I would highly recommend this book if you are looking to get sucked into a family of characters and need something enjoyable to read! I can’t wait for what else is to come!

Feels Like Home, an all-new emotional standalone from Jennifer Van Wyk is available NOW!

FLHome_print_web

Synopsis:

Andy Simpson never expected to be raising his teenage twin sons alone.

Then again, he also never expected to walk into his house and see his wife with another man. In their bed. Or that it wasn’t her first time.

Bitterness threatened to wrap around his heart, darkening every part of his life.

But a brightness he wasn’t even looking for entered their lives and wouldn’t let it take hold.

Christine Jameson knew all about being a single parent. But she was holding a secret. A secret she wasn’t willing to allow anyone to find out. One she’d held tight for years.

But one look at Andy, and she knew that she needed to be honest with him. That he deserved to know he wasn’t alone.

They both needed friendship. Needed someone who understood, who had compassion without judgement.

What they didn’t imagine was for it to become something more.

That they would come to share something they never thought they would experience again.

They didn’t expect for it to… Feel Like Home.

Excerpt:

I reach across the cushion and grasp her hand in mine, squeezing once. “I’m sorry you went through that.”

She squeezes my hand once in response. “I’m sorry you’re going through it now.”

“Thank you.”

“So, want some advice?”

“Eat more lemon pound cake?”

She releases my hand and sits back, giggling, and again I’m hit with how much I love hearing the sound of her laughter. “Well, that, too. I could even say it’s healthy because it’s made with Greek yogurt.”

“You trying to tell me something?” I tease her.

She smiles, a cross between sad and sort of resigned.

“My advice? Be happy.”

“What’s that?”

“Be happy. I promise you. First of all, it will drive Heather nuts knowing you are moving on without her. But second of all, and this is the most important part of it, you’ll be happy.”

“You make it sound so easy.”

“I’ve had a lot of practice. When Todd was at his sickest, we practiced a lot of happiness. Happiness because we had good days, or we had quiet moments to spend as a family when he could barely get out of bed. Happiness when we were able to celebrate holidays. After he cheated, one of the things we discovered was that we could either give in to the ugly that it brought on, or we could move on. We moved on. And he had to do the same. We both had guilt. Guilt for how we got there. I questioned if I wasn’t giving him what he needed. He questioned everything. I’m not going to lie… it’s hard, and most days you’ll have to dig deep, but you’ll get there. Trust me. The light is always better than the dark.”

I lay my head on the back of the couch and turn to look at her. She’s so gorgeous it almost hurts to look at her. I’ve always thought so, though I would have never done a thing about it. She has always been the mom who turned heads.

“What was he thinking?” I murmur.

“Pardon?”

“Todd. What was he thinking?”

“You mean…”

“When he stepped out.”

She doesn’t respond, just simply smiles before biting her lip and looking away, her long, dark, silky hair falling over her shoulder. She ducks her head and tucks a lock of hair behind her ear.

“I’m sorry,” I tell her, though I don’t know what I’m apologizing for. Almost admitting how gorgeous I think she is? Her husband cheating? Her husband dying? Me laying my shit out for her? All of it, probably.

“I’m sorry Heather’s such an asshole,” she replies with a shrug.

I bark out a laugh. “She is definitely an asshole.”

“She forgot rule number one.”

“What?”

“Never mind… it was in a book I read.”

“Ahh. Good book?”

“More than good.” She gives me a ghost of a smile and reaches over to grip my hand, squeezing once before letting go. “So, what are you going to do?”

“Honestly? I have no clue. I need to find a place for the boys and me to stay, talk with a lawyer… that part I know for sure. I can’t stay with her. As sad as it sounds, and maybe it’s kind of a little mean, but I think we fell out of love a long time ago. We’ve been hanging on by a thread for years. I’m sure part of it was my fault, but still…”

“It’s no excuse. This has nothing to do with you, Andy. This is all Heather. You’re a great guy. It’s Heather’s loss.”

“I appreciate you saying that.”

“It’s the truth.”

Review:

Feels Like Home was a fun read! It is the story of a Single Dad Romance (and really a Single Mom Romance too!) It started off in a way that definitely got my attention and made me want to keep reading. Andy and Christine have both been put through the ringer, and I am so happy that they ended up together- it was definitely the perfect match.

Andy comes home to find his wife in bed with another man. When given the ultimatum, she leaves not only her husband, but also her two boys (which is just unthinkable in my opinion!). When Andy seeks friendship in Christine, he never would have thought they would have the connection that they do. And the more he learns about her, the more he likes.

Christine has been through the ringer as well- her husband passed away from cancer but upon learning that he had cancer, she also found herself in a situation that she never imagined. So she also has a secret that she hasn’t revealed to Andy and doesn’t plan on doing. But when things heat up between them, it makes it harder for her to not tell him.

Christine and Andy definitely belong together. They start off as friends and definitely do not cross in boundaries – almost too slow in my opinion- but I think it is important to have that base of friendship in any relationship. I love the way their families merge and become the big blended family. The title of the book is perfect for it though- everything in the book from the characters to the plot and actual story feel comfortable and feels like home! There are some steamy scenes in there too!

I gave this book 4 stars because it was a good book! It was an easy read and I enjoyed the characters. It was sort of predictable but otherwise I would recommend picking it up and having a cozy night (think glass of wine and warm cozy fire and this book!). I would definitely read more from this author.

Taming Him by Kennedy Fox Review

Title: Taming Him
Series: Bishop Brothers
Author: Kennedy Fox
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Trope: Vacation Romance
Photographer:Wander Augular
Model:Zac Aynsley
Designer:RBA Designs
Release Date: January 30, 2018
*Each Bishop Brothers novel is an interconnected standalone*

Alex Bishop is your typical cowboy.
Charming, sexy, and wears a panty-melting smirk.
Working on the ranch helped build his solid eight-pack and smoking body. He’s every girl’s wet fantasy and he knows it too. Alex doesn’t follow the rules of your typical playboy bachelor. After wining and dining his dates and giving them the best night of their lives, he always sends flowers and calls the next day—even if it’s to say, let’s just be friends. His mama taught him manners after all and his southern blood knows how to be a gentleman. Still, that isn’t enough to tame the wildest of the Bishop brothers.

River Lancaster has finally met the man of her dreams. Too bad after six months of romantic bliss, she finds out he’s married. With a broken heart and blind rage, she books herself a ticket to Key West, Florida. Tired of cheaters and liars, she’s set on escaping to forget he ever existed. Who needs a man when there’s an all-you-can-drink margarita bar, anyway? That’s what she tells herself until she bumps into the right guy who can make all those bad memories disappear.
Even if it’s only temporarily.

Two weeks on the beach is what they both need. No strings attached, no expectations, no broken hearts. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll change the entire course of their lives in just nine short months.

**A complete standalone contemporary romance with a little southern drama**

Alex Bishop is your true Southern Gentleman- born and raised in Texas on a Ranch that he works on with his family and best friend Dylan.  When Dylan decides to take a trip to Key West and invite Alex along, he has no idea that the “boys trip” will turn into something more.  Because while Alex is a true Southern Gentleman, he is also a boy that hasn’t been tamed and has no intentions of settling down any time soon.

River has had a hard life- her younger sister passed away from complications when she was just 12 years old and she has spent the majority of her adult life taking care of others.  After going through something so tragic as losing her sister, she has poured herself into her work and never looked back. Up until recently she was dating a guy but found out he was married, so even her love life is lacking.  River’s only plan is to go to work and be the best nurse, but that’s until her best friend convinces her to take a trip to Key West- a trip she truly deserves and a chance for her to actually let her hair down.

River and Alex are from two parts of the world, two completely different parts of the world but they have a connection that neither of them can ignore.  Instead of ignoring the connection, they decide to give in to each other and make the most of the week left.  They spend a week getting to know each other, crossing off items on the bucket list, and fall in love.  But when Alex has to make a quick exit, it leaves River wondering if this would ever work.  When she doesn’t try to get in touch with Alex in the months following, he doesn’t know how much longer he can go carrying this torch for her. Until she shows back up – but will her news finally get Alex (the wild one) to settle down, or will he not be true to his roots and leave her standing high and dry?

This read was a quick and easy read and ties into other stories by Kennedy Fox (but can be read as a standalone – this is Courtney’s brother from Courtney and Drew’s story!) While I was able to predict most of what was going to happen, I did still enjoy the book as it was pretty light and you WANT them to be together.  I would have loved more cowboy drama – because hello, who doesn’t love actual cowboy drama?! but the story was more about how the decisions Alex makes and how his being raised in the South will lead him down the right path.  At the end of the day, it was an enjoyable read and definitely had it’s angsty, steamy scenes that Kennedy Fox always brings!

I give this book 3.5 stars because it was a good and enjoyable book.  It was a great story and the prologue definitely left me sobbing like a baby.  I would recommend picking up this book and giving it a ride!  You will be left with wanting more from the Bishop brothers and I can’t wait to read the next one!

SAY YOU’LL REMEMBER ME Synopsis:

“Doesn’t matter who did it. Not anymore. I did the time. It’s over.”

When Drix was convicted of a crime–one he didn’t commit–he thought his life was over. But opportunity came with the Second Chance Program, the governor’s newest pet project to get delinquents off the streets, rehabilitated and back into society. Drix knows this is his chance to get his life back on track, even if it means being paraded in front of reporters for a while.

Elle knows she lives a life of privilege. As the governor’s daughter, she can open doors with her name alone. But the expectations and pressure to be someone she isn’t may be too much to handle. She wants to follow her own path, whatever that means.

When Drix and Elle meet, their connection is immediate, but so are their problems. Drix is not the type of boy Elle’s parents have in mind for her, and Elle is not the kind of girl who can understand Drix’s messy life.

But sometimes love can breach all barriers.

Fighting against a society that can’t imagine them together, Drix and Elle must push themselves–Drix to confront the truth of the robbery, and Elle to assert her independence–and each other to finally get what they deserve.

Review:

I haven’t read a YA book in awhile, but I am SO glad I decided to pick this one up.  This was a great story and well written.  I fell in love with Drix and Elle and I fell in love with their beautiful story- it’s a story that starts and holds you in until you finish it.  It shows you the good and the bad in people.  It makes you believe in good again.

Elle is your typical privileged girl, daughter of the Governor, and has somehow been convinced that the work she is doing for her father is for the greater good.  Drix is your ultimate bad boy who was just released from juvi and after entering the Governor’s program, actually has a second chance at life.  However Drix is at odds with himself because he doesn’t know who he is- a bad or good person.  When he meets Elle though, he knows that he wants to be good, but his past may ultimately get in the way.

When they first meet, they have no idea who the other is, but what they do know is that they both can’t stop thinking about each other.  But when Elle’s father and mother both make the decision for her to not spend time with Drix, it’s almost like a star crossed lover story- you have to go where the bad boy is!  But while Elle is supposed to be the good girl, she convinces Drix to keep breaking the rules and ultimately gets in him trouble.

It’s a story of young love, but sometimes young love is the best love.  It’s innocent love, and it doesn’t matter what the world says about it.  They are faced with more things than most adults go through- but you can tell that they are more mature than some adults too.  Katie definitely gave us a glimpse into Drix’s soul- and while he might not know who he is anymore or where he belongs, it’s his sense of wanting to be better that makes you root for him and for their relationship.  And Elle- what she ultimately does to save Drix is the most selfless thing, and proves that her love is real.

I gave this book 5 stars because it was unlike any story I have ever read.  It was a gut wrenching story, but one that showed how good people can be.  It showed that while there is bad out there, there is hopefully so much more good to overcome it.  I loved the writing style, and thought the story flowed together seamlessly.  I thought it was engaging- made you think about what you would do if you were faced with the same situation.  I feel that any book that provokes that much thought from me is definitely worthy of a five star rating.  Also, the story was wonderful, the characters were well written and well developed.  The plot made sense and wasn’t too far fetched.  It was a great read and would definitely recommend you adding it to your TBR list immediately. See below for an excerpt:

~Ellison~

Sean points, and a woman in the back asks, “You never met Mr. Pierce before?”

I shake my head, and Sean gestures to the microphone. “No. I was playing a midway game earlier, and he ended up playing beside me, but then we went our separate ways. I left the game, and these guys started to harass me, and hen Hendrix asked if I needed help. I agreed, and he suggested we talk. He said that if the guys thought we were friends they would eventually lose interest, and they did. Hendrix played a game, and we talked until Andrew showed.”

“Andrew?” someone asks.

“Andrew Morton.” That causes enough of a stir that nervousness leaks into my bloodstream and makes my hands cold and clammy. Why is it that I feel that I said something terribly wrong?

“Are you and Andrew Morton friends?” someone else asks, and the question hits me in a sickening way. I name-dropped the grandson of the most powerful US Senator…the position my father is campaigning for. Sean is going to roast me alive.

“Yes. We’ve been friends for as long as I remember.” Friends, enemies, it’s all semantics at this point.

“Did you and Andrew Morton plan to attend the festival together?” Another reporter.

“Yes.”

“Were you on a date?” a woman asks.

My entire body recoils. “What?”

“Are you and Andrew Morton romantically involved?”

I become one of those bunnies who go still at the slightest sound. “I thought we were talking about Hendrix.”

“Did Mr. Pierce confront the men?”

Finally back on track. “No, he was adamant that there should be no violence.”

More questions and I put my hand in the air as I feel like I’m the one on trial. “Isn’t that the point?  Hendrix went through my dad’s program, and one of the first chances he had to make a good decision, he made one. We’re strangers, and he helped me without violence. That, to me, is success.” A few people nod their head, and because I don’t want to be done yet… “Mr. O’Bryan—grown men shouldn’t be following seventeen-year-old girls. I’m curious why you didn’t step in when I was being harassed. If you saw Hendrix and me together, then you know what happened, and it’s horrifying you didn’t help. Hendrix made the right choice. You did not.”

A rumble of conversation, Sean places a hand on my arm and gently, but firmly pushes me to the side. The raging fire in his eyes says he’s mentally measuring out the room in the basement he’s going to let me rot in for the next ten years.

My father approaches the microphone with an ease I envy. “Any more questions for Ellison can be sent to my press secretary. As you can tell, it’s been a trying day for my daughter, but we are most grateful for Mr. Pierce’s actions. We promised a program that was going to help our state’s youth turn their lives around, and, thanks to Mr. Pierce’s admirable actions, we are proud of our first program’s success.”

He offers Drix his hand again, and Drix accepts.

Lots of pictures and applause, and Dad leans in and whispers something to him. I can’t tell what it is, but I do see the shadow that crosses over Drix’s face, his throat move as he swallow and then the slight nod of his head.

I don’t know what happened, but I don’t like it. The urge is to rush Drix, but Sean has a firm hold on my elbow, keeping me in place, silently berating me for causing problems.

Drix stands behind the podium and drops a bomb so huge the ground shakes beneath my feet. “Because Ellison had enough courage to explain what happened today, I’m going to tell you what I was convicted of…”

Blog Tour + Review: Scoring Mr. Romeo

Scoring Mr. Romeo
by A.M. Madden and Joanne Schwehm
Release Date: January 15th, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romance

SMR_FrontCover.jpg

Here’s a tip: never underestimate romance.

Falling in love was the furthest thing from my mind. I’m a single mother raising a strong little boy, and he is my one and only priority.

The universe felt otherwise, sending me―actually, my son’s soccer ball―hurdling toward a stunningly handsome, perfect man, who said all the right things. He made it hard to ignore how much I missed romance.

In the past, when I met a man, they ran as soon as they heard I was a widow with a child. Not this guy. No, he fell in love with my son, and in turn my son fell in love with him. But, it was hard to believe he felt the same about me. My job was to be the strong one―to protect our hearts from sweet dreams that never lasted.

~~~
Women told me I was a master of romance. They were right. I knew how to sweep a woman off her feet, to make her feel special, and good in all the right places. I wasn’t a saint. I’ve had my share of one-night stands. They served their purpose, giving me a steady diet of romance without the hassle of commitment.
Then one day at the park, a soccer ball came careening toward my head, and my life changed in an instant. I never imagined that true love would come in the form of a five-year-old little boy. And then I got to know his mother: She was strong, independent, drop-dead gorgeous, and someone I desired – I just needed to prove it to her.
She called me Mr. Romeo, and that was fine with me.
Lesson learned: Love always trumps everything.
Excerpt:
Luca’s POV
Only an inch separated our mouths, but the cool air that replaced her warm lips had me going back for more. Wanting to feel them again, the second time I pressed harder. She parted just enough to convey she also wanted more.
My conscience nagged, forcing me to again break the connection and end the temptation. Her breath hitched when I added more distance, as if I removed her source of oxygen.
“I better go,” I whispered. The uncertainty in her eyes killed me. “Sabrina, I don’t want to… I need to.”
 MY REVIEW:
Scoring Mr. Romeo is a single mom story that was very enjoyable to read.
I will admit I am a complete sucker for single mom/dad stories so when I saw the blurb, I was super interested in it. I am glad that it did not disappoint.
Luca and Sabrina both have their own lives, and neither of them are looking for love. When Luca runs into Sabrina and her son on two separate occasions, it seems like it is just meant to be. Even though Luca wasn’t looking for love, he knows a good thing when he sees it, and goes after what he wants. But being a single mom, Sabrina isn’t necessarily ready to let her guard down and let a man into both of her lives. Can they find a way to make it work? Or will they both realize that they have separate lives, and the two of them shouldn’t be mingled together?
First off, any man that steps up and takes care of his own, or not his own children has major props in my eyes. I think there is nothing sexier than a man being a role model to a child. It gets me every time. So to read about how much Luca enjoyed being around Sabrina’s son was SO enjoyable to read. More men should be like Luca. Sabrina does go a little haywire in my opinion, but I have always been open to love- but I have also never had to deal with being a single parent, so i can’t really pass judgement on her decision.
I am giving this book 4 stars because it was a fast and enjoyable read. It wasn’t a book that was going to change my life, but it also had points that I could respect and see both sides of their stories. The story line was interesting and I read it in one day. Again, if you are looking for something fun and a single parent story- I would definitely recommend this! It was definitely heartwarming and kept me interested the whole time.
Under The Lights
Heroes don’t last long around here…
Fall in love with the sexiest girl in New Orleans?
Check.
Prepare to die for her?
Double-check.
Larissa is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.
She’s the rising star of the Pussycat Angels, the hottest burlesque show in the French Quarter.
I’ll never forget the first time I saw her.
The curve of her breast outlined by sparkling rhinestones.
Slim hips wrapped in black fishnets.
Long, dark hair…
She’s the Dark Angel who stole my heart.
Her body is intoxicating, our love overwhelming.
Cat eyes and blood red lips.
Sizzling fingers on white-hot skin.
I couldn’t keep my hands off her…
But her fame had a dark side,
A sinister shadow lurking under the lights.
I would do anything to save her…
He would do anything to see me dead.
Excerpt:
“You’re so good.” Her voice is soft, and she traces her finger along the bandage before lifting her blue eyes to meet mine. “Thank you for buying me lunch. For saving me…”
Without warning, she steps forward and wraps her arms around my waist, pressing her face against my chest, and I don’t hold back. She fits perfectly in my arms, and I inhale the sweet scent of her hair just before I press my lips to the top of her head.
Her voice is muffled against my shirt. “It feels so safe here.”
“Lara,” I whisper in her hair. “I want to keep you safe.”
She pulls back, and I loosen my hold. But she doesn’t leave. She puts her hand against my cheek, lifting her chin as she rises higher on her toes. Hell if I make her work for it.
Leaning forward, I capture her lips. They part, and our tongues meet, curling together as I hug her closer to me. She exhales a little noise, and her fingers thread in the sides of my hair. I trace a line with my lips to her ear.
“I want you so much,” I whisper.
She turns, searching for my mouth, and I kiss her. She fists my shirt in her hands, pulling it up and placing her palm against my bare stomach. I groan deeply, and my hands slide under her ass. I lift her against my chest, and her legs go around my waist. Our kisses are wildfire, fast-moving, lips pulling, hungry for something more. Something just within reach.
She moving subtly against my waist, and the blood rushes downward. I’m hard and she’s riding me, stroking my erection with her crotch.
“Lara,” I groan.
Her lips still, and she holds my cheeks, looking into my eyes. “That night on the catwalk… The way you looked at me…”
My brow collapses at the memory. “You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
“I only want you to see me.”
Her lips are pink and swollen from my kisses. I lean forward and kiss her again, tasting her like she’s water in the desert. She exhales a little noise, and it’s a charge straight to my cock.
I love her lips. I love her mouth. I want more. I want all of her.
“Does your waist hurt?”
She leans forward, running her nose along my jaw. “Nothing hurts. Everything is amazing.”
Title: Inseparable
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 8th
Inseperable_kindle
Synopsis:
A gritty, angsty, friends-to-lovers standalone romance from USA Today bestselling author Siobhan Davis.
A childhood promise. An unbreakable bond. One tragic event that shatters everything.
It all started with the boys next door…
Devin and Ayden were my best friends. We were practically joined at the hip since age two. When we were kids, we thought we were invincible, inseparable, that nothing or no one could come between us.
But we were wrong.
Everything turned to crap our senior year of high school.
Devin was turning into a clone of his deadbeat lowlife father—fighting, getting wasted, and screwing his way through every girl in town. I’d been hiding a secret crush on him for years. Afraid to tell him how I felt in case I ruined everything. So, I kept quiet and slowly watched him self-destruct with a constant ache in my heart.
Where Devin was all brooding darkness, Ayden was the shining light. Our star quarterback with the bright future whom everyone loved. But something wasn’t right. He was so guarded, and he wouldn’t let me in.
When Devin publicly shamed me, Ayden took my side, and our awesome-threesome bond was severed. The split was devastating. The heartbreak inevitable.
Ayden and I moved on with our lives, but the pain never lessened, and Devin was never far from our thoughts.
Until it all came to a head in college, and one eventful night changed everything.
Now, I’ve lost the two people who matter more to me than life itself. Nothing will ever be the same again.
A standalone new adult contemporary romance with a happy ending. Only suitable for readers aged eighteen and older due to mature content and possible triggers.
INseparableteaser1Excerpt:
He leans in, his lips brushing my cheek as his mouth makes a round trip to my ear. “What if I told you I want to be your most favorite person? The one you adore above everyone else?” His warm breath is doing strange things to my insides. My entire body is tingling, and my limbs feel like they’ve turned to rubber. He moves his hand up and down my spine, and a soothing warmth seeps bone deep. I clutch his waist harder, subconsciously moving closer until there’s barely a sliver of space between us. Every cell in my body screams for him, and I should pull back, withdraw from temptation, but I’m already under his spell.
He kisses my cheek again, and I melt into him. “What if I wanted that, Ange?” he prompts. “What would you say?”
I should refuse to answer. Throw out a lie and put a halt to this. But I can’t. “That you already are.” My heart is thumping wildly in my chest, and I can scarcely hear for the blood rushing through my ears. “That you always have been.”
He cups my face firmly, and fierce emotion blazes in his eyes. “I’ve wanted you to say that to me for a long time. I suspected, but I needed to know, because I’m a selfish, greedy bastard when it comes to you.”
“Dev, I—”
“Ssh,” he interrupts, sweeping his thumb along my lower lip, and the look in his eyes almost melts my panties off. My body sways forward, my craving for him reaching an unparalleled high. “This is the most supremely selfish act of all, but I can’t resist.”
“Resist what?” I croak, my voice hoarse, raw with need. I’m holding my breath in anticipation. Every nerve ending in my body is on heightened alert.
He licks his lips, dropping his hungry eyes to my mouth. My body pulses with need, and I squirm a little, keeping my eyes locked on his, knowing the desire I see is mirrored on my own face.
“This,” he confirms, closing the gap between us and slanting his mouth over mine.
