Review: Incapable (Part 1)

Incapable Picture

Title: Incapable

Author: Maria Skye

Genre: Erotica, Romance, for mature eyes only

Emmalin is just a normal girl struggling to make it in a world where everything and everyone she has ever loved was taken from her.  Grayson is a man with everything in the world and not a thing to lose.  Just like anything else he has ever wanted, as soon as he set eyes on her, he knew she was his to take.  And when she promised him one night, she knew that she would be incapable of saying no again.  Maybe he was what she needed she needed all along, someone to come along and prove that she was capable of love.

I really had no expectations going into this book, and figured it was going to be another billionaire rich guy saves poor girl who wants to be her own person or even a 50 shades of grey type book after reading the excerpt.  But after a few chapters, their story did intrigue me and by the end of it, the cliffhanger did leave me wanting to go find the next book to see what happened.  There are some dark moments in this book, so if you get uncomfortable reading those types of scenes, this book is not for you.  It is written in a dual point of view, but it didn’t bother me much. There were a few instances where I felt something got lost in translation.  Overall though, I was definitely rooting for Grayson and Emmalin to work.  They do compliment each other quite well in my opinion.  I also think that Marie Skye did an amazing job of creating scenes where the submissive in the relationship was actually quite dominant at many times throughout the book.

Overall, I would give this book a 4.0 star rating and would recommend it to others, mainly for the ease of read and the cliffhanger left me wanting more.
