“This is real life, and in the real world you have to bust your ass for the happy ever after… When you find love, you take it. You grab it with both hands and you do everything in your power not to let it go.”

Have you ever wondered if you took a snap shot of a random day in your life, but looked back on that same day, year after year to see what had changed or what was the same?  What if that uneventful day turned out to be one of the most important days in your life, but you just didn’t know it at the time?  Fallen and Ben seemed to have one of those random days when they met the day before she was supposed to be moving across the country, but it turned out to be a day that would define the rest of their lives.

NO SPOILERS BELOW (so keep reading!)

This was the first read of mine for Colleen Hoover.  I mainly read it because my anniversary  is on November 11th, silly I know but I am partial to the month of November.

First off- WOW! Wow, OMG, OMG, OMG and add a holy heck in there too.  This book did something to my little heart and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.  The story starts off immediately by introducing the main characters Fallen and Ben- there is no back story, only future story.  Throwing away all inhibitions, Fallen decides to spend the day with this stranger Ben and you can just tell right away that their relationship is going to be on that lasts.  After spending the day together, they decide to meet up on each November 9th of future years.

I am not going to lie- this book totally brought me back to “One Day,” another one of my favorite books (I will do a review of that one too!).  I love the idea of looking back on a tiny day in your life and realizing and seeing the impact it has.  I always think about the day I walked back into the restaurant I used to work at and decided to try to get my job back.  If I wouldn’t have, I would have never met my husband 🙂

Back to reviewing- each November 9th brought it challenges and there were times when I was straight up pissed.  But I was so anxious to see what each November 9th brought that I just couldn’t put the book down.  It seems almost unbelievable that 2 strangers could have this strong of connection, but you really felt it.  You really believe that they are supposed to be together and all the nonsense that happens every other 364 days of the year doesn’t matter, when we all know it good and well does! But to me, that is a damn good book, because you actually believe it!

The end has a KILLER plot twist- one that I was totally not expecting.  I seriously read with my mouth open for the last few chapters.  So get the tissue to catch your drool, and go get this book NOW!

Overall I give this book a five star rating and definitely recommend it.  If I could give it 10 stars I would.  It was fabulous writing, and one of the best books I have ever read.

If you would like to purchase November 9, you can find it on Amazon.

Have you read November 9?  Do you love Colleen Hoover’s writing as much as I did?  Drop a comment and let me know!
